Splinter Cell: Double Agent is set in 2008 – twelve months after the events of the previous game, entitled Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. The main hero, Sam Fisher, went through an impossible transformation. From a decent man and a secret agent working for the government, he changed into a crew cut thug with a 20-year prison sentence. However, all this is just a cunning mystification. Sam really became a double agent who has to infiltrate a dangerous terrorist group and crush it from the inside.
